The NHBRC has launched a series of skills training workshops for women with an interest in the construction field aimed at solidifying the advancement of equal opportunities in the industry.
The training workshops will be conducted in partnership with the National Construction Incubator (NCI) in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
This is line with the NHBRC’s Social Transformation and Empowerment Programme which seeks to empower designated groups that includes: women, youth, military veterans and people with disabilities through training, procurement and development, as well as employment opportunities
The attendees will be taken through various skills course which include:
- Introduction to Construction sector
- Understanding of a business plan
- House development value chain
- Innovative Building Technologies
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Home Building Technical Skills
The transformation of the construction sector remains a key focus for the NHBRC and is driven through skills development and training of homebuilders.
In the last financial, the NHBRC provided training for a total of 9,023 individuals, who comprised homebuilders, youth, women, inspectors, artisans, people with disabilities and military veterans.
