The NHBRC partnered with Provincial Humans Department hosted a three-day Technical Professional Training for Inspectors and Project Managers from O.R Tambo, Chris Hani and Alfred Nzo DM in a bid to enhance their knowledge and technical skills in the human settlement sector.
The session follows another successful training targeting Inspectors and Project Managers of the Nelson Mandela Bay and Sarah Baartman District Municipality.
In this financial year, more than 200 Human Settlements Departmental Inspectors, Project Managers and Municipal Building Inspectors in the Eastern Cape have benefited from NHBRC professional development programme.
The training seeks to enhance their skills and technical capabilities in an effort to curb poor workmanship during construction of government subsidy homes.
According to NHBRC Training Officer Abongile Ntloko the training is aimed at enhancing performance of Inspectors and to keep them abreast of the new building and technological advancements”.
“Our training programme focuses on soils, foundations, super structure, roof and finishing. With this training we want to keep our inspectors and project managers in the human settlements sector abreast of the latest development and trends in the home building industry.”
“The training was very informative, I gained such valuable information” said Genevieve Coetzee an Inspector from Provincial Human Settlements based at Joe Gqabi District.
