On Thursday, 05 November 2020, the Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu hosted a Women in Construction Summit on. The Summit, which was partly virtual and physical, aimed at unlocking the value chain to allow broader participation of women in Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation projects and programmes.

Minister Sisulu says the month of November 2020 should be marked as the beginning of a new era for women in construction. This is an era where emerging women contractors are supported to rise and succeed. The Minister has noted that although significant progress that has been made but that there are still more women who have been left behind.
